About the Event

Responding to concerns is one of the 4 Rs of Child Protection. In this engaging, interactive and informative 2.5hr online class, we explore this R in more depth by focusing on disclosures.

Globally significant amounts of research into child abuse cases have shown repetitive professional failings in recognising disclosures and in ensuring any responses to disclosures are safe responses.  This class will help you develop the safeguarding and child protection knowledge and skills needed to recognise and respond to disclosures safely.

In this engaging and informative, 2.5hr online class, we guide you through the key knowledge and skills needed to support you in:

  • Recognising the different types of disclosures.
  • Applying safe practice for all when responding to a disclosure.
  • Identifying the relevance of empowering children/young people and their voice to support them in feeling safe to disclose any concerns.
  • Naming the key safeguards organisations need to help support all those involved and ensuring any concerns can be managed appropriately.
